Well Hello There

by Brittany Albert

Hello and welcome to our exciting adventure!
I can't begin to tell you how much it means to me that you are visiting our site and scrolling through our pages. You have allowed us the privilege of finding items to place in your home and that does not weigh lightly on us. I found many years ago that our homes, the roots of our lives, is not a physical location. Our roots are the people, things, places, experiences that make up our environment and ourselves. Thank you for welcoming us in and for joining us on this journey!
A little introduction...
My name is Brittany, lover of all pretty things, a good deal, food and my family. We currently reside in Indiana and live on one of the few hills! My husband, who is from Kentucky, asked for hills and a walk out basement when we were looking for homes. I tried to get him to understand that most homes in Indiana don't have those two things...well, he found it! We love our little piece of heaven, with 17 acres of rolling hills with a pond. Our two boys are living their best life with adventures around every corner. Our shop is also located on our property and we love doing things as a family.
2020, what a year! I believe we can all say we have never seen something like that! While 2020 turned lives around for people in the world, our personal world changed in a way we never imagined. Our boys, Tuck & Tann, have always asked for siblings. We were delighted to tell them we would be welcoming a baby girl, due at Christmas! All hands went on deck and we started ripping a part our main floor. Find out your expecting your miracle baby? Rip your house a part! We like to do all the things.
With unforeseen complications, I went into the hospital indefinitely in October, hoping to keep baby girl safe until her due date. We welcomed her into the world on October 29th, 2020. With previous scans and tests we knew that baby girl would have a few challenges and made proper arrangements on where I would deliver so she could be transferred to Riley Children's Hospital. As they escorted her away in her little incubator we knew we had to trust the Lord.
Kenzie Faith Albert fought her fight, and we could not be more proud of her. We loved on her, and held her tightly as she met Jesus 21 days later, in November of 2020.
We believe things happen for reasons, but unfortunately we don't always know those reasons. We are so thankful for her, our strategic gift that rocked our world. The only thing that makes it easier is heaven. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't ask ourselves if we are living. Are we truly living the way we would have wanted Kenzie to live? We've torn our life apart trying to figure that out. In these last months we've...Bought things, sold things, started taking vacations, ate the food, gone to the places. All for the purpose of truly living.
And that is where we find Tru Roots. Tru can be translated into the word, faith. It takes a lot of faith to live. Faith in yourself, faith in others, faith in something greater. I've always had an entrepreneurial heart, growing up my parents owned multiple businesses. When we lived in Tennessee, 10 years ago, I wanted to start a business. But, life happens and somehow you look back and wonder where 10 years have gone. So what happens when you start having the faith to live? You take the leap. You make the call. You do the things.
So here we are, doing the things.
And...I'm really happy to be doing them with you.
